Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has extended his deepest condolences to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, and the people of Akwa Ibom State, over the passing of his beloved wife, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, who succumbed to a brief illness.
Governor Mutfwang, during a condolence visit to Pastor Umo Eno at the Government House in Uyo, described the loss of Her Excellency as a profound tragedy, not only for the Eno family but also for the people of Akwa Ibom and the nation at large.
“We are here to commiserate with you on the demise of your dear wife. Thank God He has begun to grant you the fortitude to bear this great loss. Death is always painful, as it leaves a void that only God can fill,” Governor Mutfwang said.
He continued, “As Christians, we are consoled by the hope of eternity. I imagine you may have questions for God, but only He can provide the answers. We pray that He grants you the strength to endure this painful experience.”
Governor Mutfwang eulogized the late Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno as a supportive pillar of her husband’s leadership, a moral compass, and a political ally. He highlighted her life of service to God and the people of Akwa Ibom, noting her pivotal role in raising godly children who contribute positively to society.
According to Governor Mutfwang, Mrs. Eno exemplified integrity, compassion, and humility while her kindness, generosity, and empathy made a lasting impact on everyone who crossed her path. He emphasized that her legacy of justice, fairness, and selfless service to her community would continue to inspire generations to come.
On behalf of his family, the government, and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang expressed heartfelt sympathies to Governor Umo Eno, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom State. He prayed for God’s comfort, strength, and courage to uphold them during this period of immense grief.
In his response, Governor Umo Eno thanked Governor Mutfwang and his delegation for their thoughtful visit, which he described as a deliberate act of solidarity during his moment of sorrow. He said that his late wife was his closest friend and companion, with whom he had shared 40 years of life.
“She left at a time when her influence, service, and immense contributions were most needed,” Governor Eno said. He prayed for God’s continued comfort for himself, their children, and the people of Akwa Ibom State as they mourn her loss.
The Director General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Emmanuel Agbo and his entire team who were on ground, also extended their condolences and prayed for God’s comfort and strength to bear the tragic loss.
