Kidnapper have reportedly been abducted along Idah– Alegwu road in Kogi State on their way from various parts of the country and Itobe Market.
Eyewitnesses account has it that the kidnappers ambushed unsuspecting travellers at a section of the road known for a large pothole that slows down vehicles.
According to an eye witness who pleaded anonymity, “as motorists approached the spot, the kidnappers fired sporadically into the air, creating panic before forcefully abducting their victims and whist them into the surrounding bushes.
“This ugly incident occurs barely a week after another spate of kidnappings took place along the Nsukka-Idah road”
A tricycle rider returning from the farm and other travellers returning from the Enugu market were also kidnapped by the unknown attackers While the tricycle rider managed to escape with injuries, the whereabouts of the other victims remain unknown.
Meanwhile attempts
by TMSnews to obtain a statement from the Kogi State Police Command proved abortive at the time filing this report.
