Fire outbreak has razed the popular AP plaza located in Wuse 2, Abuja, on Saturday leaving a devastating effect on the occupants of the plaza.
Properties and other valuables are said to have been consumed in the inferno creating a high safety concerns among residents and business owners in the area.
The inferno which TMSNEWS gathered started about noon, when the plaza went on flame sending smoke into the air raising high panic, fear as well as drawing the attention of resident who watched helplessly as the flames spread.
TMSNEWS could not ascertain the extent of destruction and property burnt at the time of filling as available information leading to the cause of the incident was still sketchy, though investigations are expected to be underway.
TMSNEWS learnt however that the authorities have commenced investigation to determine the remote causes of the fire incident
Investigations have so far revealed that the management of the AP Plaza has promised to work closely with investigators and the fire service to uncover the cause and provide updates to affected business owners and tenants.
TMSNEWS was informed that cases of injuries or fatalities were not recorded but officials have advised the public especially the residents to stay clear the environment to avoid causing traffic obstruction during the activities of the firefighters.
AP Plaza, situated along the busy Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse 2, is a major shopping and business hub, housing numerous businesses and offices.
