The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against crime and criminality with the arrest of a notorious kidnapping kingpin and five other members of his gang.
The suspects, who have been linked to series of heinous crimes including kidnapping, motorcycle snatching, banditry, and cattle rustling, were apprehended through coordinated intelligence and tactical operations carried out by the men of the NSCDC in the state.
The suspects, Ali Adamu 25, Saidu Yakubu 22,
Idi Sale 26, Idi saidu 23, Hashimu burti 28 and
Ari Abdulrahman 28 were arrested at Shinge Market in Lafia the state Capital with 1.150million in Ali Adamu’s possession and *1.2million found in his home.
The arrest, according to the PRO of the command, DSC Jerry Victor,in a statement made available to tmsnews, was made successful by the NSCDC operatives with the recovery of the total sum of *₦2.350 million in cash, believed to be proceeds of ransom payments and other illicit activities.
“Additionally, two motorcycles used by the suspects during their operations were seized”, the statement added”.
The statement described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the state’s ongoing war against criminality.
In the same vein, one Daddy Peter 28, was arrested in connection with unlawful possession of firearms.
“At the cause of investigation the suspect voluntarily led the investigation team to a concealed location identified as a local firearms manufacturing site in Agyaragu village, Obi local government area of Nasarawa state, where 30 pieces of locally firearms, one Tiger generator, a drilling machine and several iron and fabricating tools were discovered.
“This successful operation is a testament to the effectiveness of our intelligence and operational units, and our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of the people of Nasarawa State”..
“These individuals have inflicted untold hardship on communities through acts of violence and intimidation.
“Their arrest marks a significant step toward restoring peace and public confidence,” the statement declared.
He further emphasized that the suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation and will be charged to court in accordance with the law upon conclusion of all preliminary procedures.
“The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command remains committed to working in close collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, and community stakeholders to eliminate criminal elements from the state.
The Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest NSCDC office or any security outlet closest to them.
