Residents of some communities in Kachia local government area of Kaduna state have accused the Nigerian army of not engaging the terrorists who invaded the community on March 31.
The terrorists were said to have invaded three communities namely; Aburon, Ankuwa and Mai’ido in broad daylight, shooting sporadically, killing no fewer than 12 people before abducting many, James DeKing, a resident told TMSnews on telephone.
“They came into our community in the morning when people are already in their farms, they started shooting anyhow. People started rubbing for their lives.
“What even shocked us most is that the soldiers came in about six Hilux vehicles but only parked their vehicles and refused to fight the bandits.
“Some of the soldiers were even seen at s local drinking joint drinking beer while the bandits were killing our people.” De-king lamented.
Another residents of Aburon who gave his name as Mathew said the attack lasted for hours and they the military were in ground as spectators.
“The soldiers were watching the gunmen as if they were watching movie. These guys were shooting at our people but the army didn’t engaged them, if they had engaged them, the casualty wouldn’t have been this bad.
“About 12 people were killed in the three neighboring communities; six at Aburon, two at Mai’ido and four or five at Ankuwa.
“They also kidnapped some women and children from the communities.” Mathew said.
This is not the first time communities under attacks had accused the Nigerian military of negligence. Recalled that residents of Maraban Agban in Kagoro also accused the military of refusing to respond to SOS calls when their community came under attack last week.
