Barely twenty four hours after attack on a military check point in Abuja, the advancing killer group raided Birnin Gwari community of Kaduna state.
Report says no fewer than 13 villagers were killed with scores injured Friday night in Damari village of Kazaga Ward of Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State by the Ansaru terrorist group which attacked the community.
The local officials has confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU).
The BEPU Chairman, Isaq Kasai said that the terrorists invaded the community at about midnight where they went on a shooting spree, burning down buildings and looting food items and livestock.
It disclosed that many villagers were forced to flee the community to safety as the attackers went on rampage unchallenged, adding that there was no security operative on ground to repel them.
The community leader called on the Kaduna State government and security agencies to come to the aid of communities in the council and expressed their plight that they were currently at the mercy of terrorists and bandits.
Kasai said, “On Friday night, Damari town of Kazaga Ward in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State came under attack by Ansaru terrorist group.
“13 of our people were killed by the terrorists who had a field day as there was no security personnel to challenge them. They looted food items, livestock and set buildings on fire.
“The people of Damari had to flee en masse following the incessant attack by terrorists that besieged the farming community of Damari.
“We are pleading and calling on the Kaduna State government and security agencies to come to the aid of the people of Birnin-Gwari communities because we are under siege.”
