Breaking! FX WITHHELD: EMIRATES THREATENS FLIGHT CUT TO NIGERIA

Following it’s blockage of about $85m foriegn exchange in running it’s flights operation to Nigeria, the Emirates airlines has threatened to reduce it’s flights into Nigeria.

The Emirates stated in a memo obtained by TMNews exclusively weekend that it reduce flight operations to seven downward from eleven per week.

In a memo written to the Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika by the Emirates chief of International Affairs, Sheik Majid Al Mualla, the airline giant said the situation will force it eleven weekly flights down to seven per week from August 15th.

Emirates said it’s earlier meeting with the officials of the Central Bank Nigeria, CBN did not yield the desire results as the sum of $85m was still being held by the Nigeria authorities.

TMSnews reports that the situation could affect adversely the huge air traffic Emirates intercede between Nigerian business flights from and to Dubai.

The Emirates which is alleging frustration however, assured the aviation minister of it’s prompt change of decision should there be a swip changes from the Nigeria authorities.
