The former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Benue State chapter, Chief Bemgba Iortyom has stated that his political party will be the decisive political platform for producing the next governor of Benue State come 2027.

said he is stepping forward to

Chief Iortyom, who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Monday, announcing his intention to commence consultations for the governorship of Benue State.

Iortyom who expressed loyalty to his party, the PDP, said his action was to stimulate 2027 Gubernatorial activity in the party.

He said his belief that PDP in 2027 will be the decisive political platform for producing the next governor of Benue State is unshakable given the glaring acrimonious circumstances of governance of the state and vanguard politics therein under the watch of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He further noted that “It is also my firm conviction drawn from deep insight that the commencement of Gubernatorial activity in the Benue PDP will serve as a catalyst to uniting the party’s followers across the state and provide antidote to the skirmishes seen in its ranks which are far less in gravity than the full blown war currently ravaging APC in the state.

“In consideration of the above and other existing facts of politics, I, Chief Bemgba Iortyom, take this step as a loyal and proud PDP man intent on galvanizing activity within the party’s ranks and igniting collective action among its leadership and followership as a unifying factor.

“I step forward to seek the consent of the leadership of the party to hoist the party’s flag on the field of contest as a wake-up call to other illustrious stalwarts of the party who are eminently qualified to grace this race.”

“I step forward as a herald carrying the message that PDP has its sights on reclaiming occupancy of the Benue State Government House, Makurdi at the 2027 Gubernatorial Election in the state,” he added
