Nasarawa state Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has facilitated with both the female team, Nasarawa Amazons and Nasarawa United for their outstanding performances in their respective matches.
SWAN in a statement signed by its Chairman and secretary, Comrade Smash George and Abel Leonard respectively said SWAN would continue to recon with the exceptional performance of the clubs in Nasarawa state.
“First, we celebrate Nasarawa Amazons for their heroic display at the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT24). Your resilience in the final against Bayelsa Queens, emerging victorious after a thrilling penalty shootout, has once again proven your strength and determination. Your victory is a source of pride to the entire state, and we commend your hard work”
“We also congratulate Nasarawa United for their dominant performance in their first home game win of the season, securing a resounding 3-0 win against Abia Warriors. Special accolades go to Anas, whose hat-trick brought his total to eight goals in the NPFL this season.
This victory is a testament to the team’s collective effort and Anas’s exceptional talent. Both teams have made Nasarawa proud, and we urge you to continue to strive for greatness as you represent the state.
Meanwhile, both teams have expressed their readiness to make the state proud.
