Commencing Ramadan, Lent Together Signals Nation’s Unity –  Nasarawa Speaker

  • calls for fervent prayers for Nigerian Leaders

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau Ph.D has congratulated Muslims for witnessing the new month of Ramadan and successfully ushering in the 2026 fasting.

The Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau equally identified with the Christian community on the commencement of this year’s lent which marks the beginning of the 40 day fasting.

A statement by Press Secretary to the Speaker Jibrin Gwamna quotes the Speaker Dr. Danladi Jatau as saying that the commencement of the Ramadan fast and the lent same day was beyond coincidence but signals a greater blessings, unity of the country.

He described the period as special and very significant among but the Muslims and the Christian communities hence the need to appreciate God for witnessing the holy month.

The State Number One Lawmaker while urging people to identify with each other during the period and beyond called for suber reflection for the betterment of the society.

The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen enjoined both Muslims and Christians to use the holy month to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed, pray for the State and the Country at large to overcome its emerging challenges.

Speaker Jatau also called on well to do individuals in the society to use the period and support the less privileged ones among them to enable them observe the fasting with ease.

He congratulated both the entire Muslims and the Christian communities in the State and beyond, wishing them successful 2026 Ramadan fast and the lenting period with abundant blessings.

He called on believers to adhere strictly to the ethics and guiding principles of the spiritual exercise to gain the rewards and blessings associated with it just as he enjoined religion leaders to use the period to preach peace, unity and togetherness among their followers to have an egalitarian society that development will thrive.

Speaker Jatau called on the entire people of the State to pray and support Governor Abdullahi Sule and the State Assembly to deliver on their mandates.
