The Nasarawa state chapter of the opposition PDP has cautioned the ruling APC under Gov Abdullahi Sule to succumb to the yearnings of the state civil servants by paying immediately, the approved #70,500 minimum wage for workers.
The party in a statement issued from its secretariat and signed by Jonathan Ikpaa, cautioned the governor on the overbearing and escalating frustration of the civil servants coupled with hardship the workers were undergoing.
The industrial action embarked upon by state workers has send enough signals that all is not well in Nasarawa.
The PDP observed that the weak policies of Gov Sule are embedded with insensitivity on the welfare of Nasarawa workers.
“We observe with grave concerns the
insensitivity of Gov Abdullahi Sule on matters that bother on the welfare of state and local government workers in Nasarawa state.”
“It is on record that Gov Sule on a national television assured workers of his resolved to pay the National Minimum Wage as soon as the Federal Government was ready. While federal and majority of workers in the states of the Federation have started receiving alerts, Gov Sule is reversing on this like his many failed promises.”
“The ruling APC must not allowed it’s inefficiency to further affect governance in the state. “A tour of state health facilities have revealed inhuman scenarios as seen on the sick beds of dying patients.”
“While this carelessness is going on, state officials are out of the state on fun expedition spending taxpayers money and worker’s slaaries.”
“We view these frustrating policies of Gov Abdullahi Sule as an attempt to further suffocate to dead, the already suffering state workers by deliberately slowing down the implementation of the National Minimum Wage which almost every other states have cued into.”
“We urge stakeholders of the Nasarawa project to hold the ruling APC government responsible for the sufferings of poor workers.
