Benue State Governor , Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has, on behalf of the Government and good people of Benue State, extended good wishes to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Senator George Akume, as he marks his 71st birthday.
The Governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, expressed gratitude to God for keeping the former Governor to witness another birthday in good health, sound mind and excellent spirit.
He described the former minister as a beneficiary of the immense grace of God, judging by the great achievements God has helped him to attain in politics and public service.
He appreciated the former representative of the Benue North West senatorial district for his legacies in the State and country, both as a Governor, Senator, Minister and now the SGF.
The Governor prayed God to grant the SGF long life, good health and accelerated divine fulfillment of his wishes, as he continues to offer quality service to the dear nation.
In the same vein, the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has joined millions of other Nigerians in celebrating the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Senator George Akume on his 71st birthday.
Chief Ortom in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Terver Akase, described Senator Akume as a statesman and leader who has made significant contributions to the development of the nation in his public service career.
He stated that Senator Akume has groomed and positioned countless people including technocrats, politicians and professionals in various fields, and his legacy of vision and mentorship will continue to positively impact on many lives.
According to Ortom, “Senator Akume’s journey in public service has been nothing short of outstanding. As a former Governor of Benue State and a three-time Senator who represented the Benue North West Senatorial District, Minister of the Federal Republic and now SGF, Senator Akume has demonstrated unparalleled commitment to the welfare of his people and the country as a whole”.
Chief Ortom said as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Akume’s role has been pivotal in enabling the administration of President Bola Tinubu to confront the challenging economic situation in the country.
The former Governor prayed God to grant the SGF many more years of good health, happiness, and continued success.
