Gov. Sule pledges to pay new national minimum wage, signs supplementary budget into law

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa says his administration will not rescind in it’s commitment to pay the new national minimum wage.

The Governor stated this shortly after ascenting to the twenty twenty four supplementary budget of over one hundred billion naira into law today in Lafia.

While assuring of his administration’s concern to the welfare of workers in the state, Gov. Sule appealed to the workers to exercise patience as modalities are being worked out to that effect.

He lauded the Speaker and members of the State Assembly for the speedy passage of the supplementary appropriation bill.

He also appreciated the efforts of the State Ministry of Finance and other related ministries and agencies towards the passage of the supplementary budget.

Sule gave credit to President Bola Tinubu for setting the pace for the improvement in revenue accruals after the removal of fuel subsidy.

Also speaking, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau said the supplementary budget went through the normal legislative processes before it was passed for the ascent by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

He reassured of the 7th Assembly’s commitment under his watch to continue to pass laws and make resolutions that will better the welfare of the people of the state.

Earlier, Commissioner of Finance and Budget Planning, Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi explained that the revised budget is connected to the Governor’s vision of meeting the socio-economic and Infrastructural needs of the state in the wake of the current economic realities.
