Dr. Mike Omeri Agbo – Omeri OFR has congratulated the newly elected officials of the Alago Ikweyi Gbayi Development Union (AIGDU), Abuja, describing their emergence through a peaceful and transparent electoral process as commendable.
In a congratulatory message, Dr. Omeri, on behalf of his campaign team, praised the union for conducting an election acceptable to members, noting that the process reflected the association’s desire to promote unity, stability and development within Alago communities.
Omeri who is also the Obowu of Keana and PDP Senatorial candidate for Nasarawa South, implored the newly elected officials to approach their responsibilities with humility and build on the foundation laid by their predecessors.
Dr. Omeri described the peaceful election as an important lesson for the Alago people ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying it demonstrated that members of a community could compete fairly, accept electoral outcomes and remain united despite differences.
He called on Alago sons and daughters to carry the same spirit into the forthcoming elections by participating actively in the democratic process, rejecting violence and division, and prioritising peace and unity across Nasarawa South, Alago communities and neighbouring areas.
The traditional titleholder (Obowu of Keana) also commended the outgoing leadership of AIGDU, led by Mohammed Okwoli Oshafu, for its dedication and contributions to the growth and stability of the union.
According to him, the pillars emplaced by the outgoing administration would serve as a valuable resource for the incoming leadership as it continues efforts towards the advancement of the community.
He further urged both incoming and outgoing officials, alongside members of the union, to sustain cooperation, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
Dr. Mike expressed hope that AIGDU would continue to serve as a unifying platform for preserving the cultural heritage of the Alago people, advancing their collective aspirations and promoting community development.
He reiterated the need for unity and peaceful engagement within the union and the wider community.
