Owusonabi Emerges 2023 Alago Beauty Queen in Nasarawa State

 

Miss Owusonabi Agye, Friday, emerged out of seven contestants as the next Alago beauty queen after a keenly contested pageant held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital last friday.

 

The winner was announced at the 5th edition of Oshi’Kalago Fiesta of Beauty and Culture held at the Crown Luxury Hotel, Lafia.

 

The event tagged: ‘Alago Connect For Greater Good’ was organized by the Deedat Foundation in collaboration with Addra Cultural Foundation.

 

Some prominent sons and daughters of Alago speaking people, one of the largest in the State graced the occasion. Among those present were ex Senator Salihu Hussaini Egyebola, a former female APC gubernatorial aspirant, Hajiya Fatimah Abdullahi, ither captains if industry and leaders were in hand to lend support to the organisers who have been adjudged to be impeoving on standard and quality at the now anual evwnt which fot underway 5 years ago.

 

Highlights of this year’s event was the decoration of the new Queen and presentation of awards of appreciation to individuals for their contributions over the years to the Oshi’Kalago project.

 

During her reign, the Queen will be expected to mobilise intiate organisational and community empowerment initiative as well show case the culture and history of the Alago people as well as Nasarawa State in general.

 

Alago, one of the largest ethnic communities in Nasarawa State is among the earliest settlers in area together with other Kwararafa groups that are currently found in most of the MiddleBelt and across 22 other states of the federation. In Nasarawa state, they are found in Awe, Keana, Doma, Obi, Lafia, Nasarawa and Toto local government areas.
