Senator Ned Nwoko has again reaffirmed his commitment to regional development, calling for greater integration and cooperation in infrastructure and resource management.
Nwoko, who made the call during a visit by the Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, BORBDA, Mr. Femi Adekanbi.
The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District emphasized the need for strategic projects to boost agriculture, irrigation, and water supply across Delta North, Edo, Ondo, and Ekiti states.
According to a statement by his media consultant, Michael Ogar, the senator also advocated for two critical dam projects in Delta State: the Ogwashi-Uku Dam and the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam.
“These dams, when completed, will transform the region. The Ogwashi-Uku Dam will provide vital water resources to over 60 communities, enhancing agriculture, irrigation, and water supply.
“Similarly, the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam will improve irrigation, expand access to clean water, and drive socio-economic growth,” the statement read.
Commending BORBDA’s leadership for its ongoing efforts, Nwoko stressed the need for timely project completion and pledged to secure adequate funding.
BORBDA’s Managing Director, Mr. Adekanbi, assured Nwoko of the authority’s commitment to completing the projects and expressed gratitude for his relentless advocacy for Delta North’s development.
The meeting underscored Nwoko’s proactive approach to fostering strategic partnerships that will drive sustainable growth for his constituents and the entire region.
