By David Odama

A High Court sitting in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has on Monday reserved ruling on a motion seeking the nullifications of the Wards, LGAs and State congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Nasarawa state.

Justice Abdullahi Shams-Shammah reserved the ruling after Johnson Usman, SAN, Counsel to the third Defendant, drew the attention of the court to stay proceeding on the matter because of an appeal filed at the Appeal Court, Makurdi Division.

When the counsel was allowed to present his application on the stay of proceeding by the court, he told the court to give him seven days to reply to the response on his counter

motion by counsel to the plaintiffs in line with the rules of the court.

The judge, Justice Abdullahi Shams-Shammah then adjourned the case to Tuesday, December 11, allow for reply and for the continuation of the hearing.

It would be recalled that the court had on September 27, 2024, restrained the party from conducting congresses and extended the restrain to October 2 and 8, a directive which followed a motion filed by the plaintiffs, 16 members of the party led by Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi-Onawo (PDP, Nasarawa South).

Recalled that the plaintiffs had filed a case against PDP (first respondent), Mr. Francis Orogu, PDP Chairman (second respondent), and the State Working Committee of the party (third respondent).
