By News Editor

In a last minute move to save further damages on his presidential ambition, former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar Wednesday night flee to London to hold secret meeting with embittered Rivers State governor, Nyisom Wike.
A close source to the PDP chieftain said Atiku had also begged the two ex governors: Sule Lamido of Jigawa and Babangida Aliyu of Niger to stay away from further delegatory comments on the crisis between him and Gov Wike.
Atiku who left to London is scheduled to holds secret meeting with Gov Wike along with four other governors.
The presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has flown to the United Kingdom, in a bid to resolve his rift with the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike.

TMSnews reports that Atiku had sneaked into Paris Wednesday when news leaked claims that his major contestants: Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling APC and Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party had met with Gov Wike’s team in Paris and London respectively.
Atiku’s major buziness in London is to meet with the Wike on Thursday.

The source said: “the PDP presidential candidate headed for London today after arriving Paris yesterday. He is billed to meet with Wike tomorrow in an attempt to finally resolve the issues between them,” a source said.
TMSnews reliably gathered that top associates close Atiku had privately lampooned the duo of ex Govs Lamido and Babangida for worsening the post convention crisis rocking the main opposition party.
They mounted pressure on Atiku to step up actions to prevent the crisis from going beyond it’s present level.
They are not happy with the way in which Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa, and Babangida Aliyu, former governor of Niger, have criticised Wike and they want Abubakar to call them to order, another insider said.

In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, Lamido said: “We should forget about Wike.”
“Wike is an individual, I don’t think because he is a governor there he has control and monopoly over the peoples of Rivers,” the former Jigawa governor had said.

Abubakar’s desperate move to resolve the issues between him and Wike came a day after Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met with the Rivers governor in Paris, France.

Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue; Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and other PDP stalwarts loyal to the Rivers governor also attended the meeting
