Worried by the huge salary burden of the local government, Chairman of Toto local _government council in Nasarawa state, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya has constituted a screening committee on salary verification and authentication of staff strength of the local government.
Pharmacist Yahaya said while approving the composition of the committee that the step was to holistically approach issues militating service delivery to the people.
He said his administration is determined to have adequate data necessary for the task ahead of his administration.
Consequently, the chairman has approved the constitution of the following persons as committee members to verify and authentic staff of the local government council.
According to a statement by the Information Officer of the council, Iliya Haggai Byekuzo, Bar. Yakubu Galadima is to serve as chairman of the committee.
Other members of the committee are, Garba Bako, staff officer, Mall. Abubakar Umar NULGE member, Hon Danlami Usman member
Com. Salihu Adamu (NUT) member Mall Isah Ibrahim member, Mrs Patience Michael ( MHWUN) member
Also to serve in the committee are:, Hon Bache Iliya Garagwa member, Hon Mohammed Awwal Shuaibu (chief of staff) member, Hon Yakubu Ibrahim ( Shafan Kwatto) Member, Abdullahi Adamu (zonal auditor) member while Hon Adamu Danladi Maikeke former clerk Tlglc is to serve as the secretary of the committee.
The committee terms of reference is to ascertain the accurate staff strength in Toto LGC, Gadabuke and Umaisha Development Areas PHCs and LEAs.
To ascertain the actual salary figures of all the staff bearing in mind the report of the screening conducted by the previous administration.To ascertain the last salary payment by the immediate past administration and compare with the first salary payment by his Administration.
The committee is also saddled with the responsibility of bringing out differences or otherwise real numbers of casual workers and their place of assignments as well as their salary figures.
In addition, the committee is to ascertain the list of staff promoted with their authentic figures of 50%. and any other issue incidental to the assignment of the committee.
The Chairman, while congratulating the committee members, said they have two weeks within which to submit their report to the council.
By this development all committee members are expected to be seated at the council chamber 10:am tomorrow 10th January 2025 for inauguration by the chairman.
