Gov Alia, Senator Moro Condemn Killing of youths, attack on Benue community

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, and Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro have strongly condemned the killing of two youths from Oju Local Government Area of the state.

The victims were reportedly attacked and killed in cold blood while traveling on the Awajir-Oju road.

Governor Alia who spoke in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary CPS Tersoo Kula described the incident as uncalled for and unfortunate.

He directed security agencies to identify and apprehend the perpetrators within 48 hours.

Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring that lasting peace returns to the state..

The Governor also condemned the attack on Nyifon community in Buruku Local Government Area, reportedly linked to a misunderstanding over a boat mishap.

Governor Alia directed security agencies to thoroughly investigate and apprehend the perpetrators.

Also speaking in a statement signed by his Media Adviser Emmanuel John, Senator Moro condemned the killing saying it was barbaric.

He said killing ourselves when we should stand together against external aggressor was uncalled for and urged for calm.

Moro called for the arrest of those responsible and urged the Benue State Government to address the crisis in the Gwer/Konshisha/Oju axis.
