Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna has blamed missed chances of winning the professional upper hand displayed by the visiting Rivers United unforeseen circumstances
Tornadoes since its return to base after eight years of absence from active football in Niger state have maintained either goalless or 1-1 draw with all the visiting opponents.
Monday’s tackle against Rivers United at the Bako Kontagora memorial stadium is not different as it ended in another 1-1 draw.
The first goal against Rivers United by Tornadoes, less than ten minutes into the game was countered by the visiting team’s Seiyefa Jackson’s goal 47 minutes into the second half.
Coach Mohammed Majin in his post-match reactions, said the outcome is clear indications in the dynamism of football, no one can predict winning or losing based on how good or bad teams display their skills.
“It is one of those things; sometimes, you win, sometimes you draw and sometimes you lose. We played well, had our chances but couldn’t convert it to goals”.
“My opinion about the goal cannot change the result, so the referee’s decision is final. We take on Katsina United next, we’ll work hard to get something out of the game”.
Also speaking, Finidi George who is the Coach of Rivers United attributed the outcome of the encounter to poor finishing by the host which became advantage to his team.
