As the Nasarawa state House of Assembly prepares to elect it’s leadership next week Tuesday for the 7th Assembly, a group under the auspices of concerned APC youth Saturday accused Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state of attempting to impose the immediate past speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi against the interest of the Nasarawa people.

The group in a press conference in Lafia alleged that they are aware that the governor, who is the father of all, is blindly supporting the imposition of the immediate past speaker Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi for a third term as speaker.

Leader of the group, Salihu Abdullahi Osuko vowed during the briefing that the APC concern Youths though members of the party will resist the governor’s action, expose other enemies of the state who either by hook or crook want to cause confusion in the state by orchestrating a plan to hold an illegal inauguration of the 7th Assembly, where only Pro Balarabe Abdullahi members Elect will be allowed into the hallow chamber to vote.

“Mr Governor Sir, we want to assure you that we will resist any attempt to set the state on fire therefore we are urging your Excellency Engineer Abdullahi A Sule Executive Governor of Nasarawa State to play the role of a Good father to all in this matter or prepare for the worst.

“Your Excellency Sir, you are the chief security officer of the state, and you have been demonstrating that in the past four years, that is why Nasarawa is among the most peaceful and progressives States in Nigeria

Therefore, the Election of Speaker Nasarawa state House of Assembly must not be a do or die affair that can put the state into anarchy or chaos through your sole effort, “the group stated..

“We are calling on all security agencies in the state as well as all the good and peace loving people of Nasarawa State to shine their eyes and stand up against enemies of the state who are so desperate to get or maintain power at the expense of the general peace and development of the state.

According to the statement: “The system that provides enabling environment, laws and freedom for the people to choose their leader through the ballot without any sentiment, intimidation, fear or favour, must be obeyed and adhered to strictly in the conduct of election to produce the speaker and other principal officers

.”As Nasarawa State House of Assembly members Elect prepare to elect their new presiding officers , Democracy must prevail in order to have a credible and acceptable set of principal officers whi are only first among equals and must not be divided b6 selfish interests which has become the hallmark of the administration in recent times adding that when leaders emerge through a transparent and legitimate process, developnent will come to the communities and the people will be happy.

Following happenings and ongoing agitation from different quarters on the election of the next speaker and principal officers of the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly and the tension thereof, We, the Concerned APC Youth wish to state our positions on the matter at hand noting that the APC concern youth who described the alleged move by the state governor and others as unfortunate are dismayed that the leadership race for the Speakership is taking a rough dimension where some mischief makers have resorted to a campaign of calumny and blackmail instead of marketing the credibility of their Aspirant.

“Distinguished gentlemen of the press we want to use this press conference to re assured Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi A Sule that we believe in him as a Democrat, incorruptible and God fearing leader to allow democracy to prevail during the election of the incoming speaker of Nasarawa State house of Assembly restating that

“We need peace in Nasarawa, and Democracy must prevail while the election of the speaker must not be a do or die affair,” the statement concluded.
