From Dooshima Terkura, Makurdi
Presiding Pastor, Faith Women Fellowship (FWF) Ministry International, Evangelist Lydia Idoko, has charged urged Nigerians to continue to pray for leadership at all levels stating that those them leadership whom she identified as sycophants were responsible for corrupting them.
She made this call during a prayer session held at the FWF headquarters, Makurdi, to pray for the nation’s leadership, tagged “A Powerful 2-Day Prayer for Global Peace”, with the theme, “Standing in the gap.”
She stated that in most cases people around the leaders were those that encourage them to take certain actions that affect the nation, insisting that instead of the blame game, the people need to pray for leadership and themselves to change the norm.
She said “Nigerians must stop the blame game against the nation’s leadership, but to always put them in their prayers.
“The need to pray for the leadership is pertinent because we can attest to the challenges experienced even as leaders of nucleus families, so leaders need more of the prayers of the people as commanded by God.
“As the people pray for the leaders, it would enable them to live peaceful and godly lives; lives that are result oriented,” she said adding that the people should also pray for themselves because most of them were in the habit of corrupting leadership, adding that in so doing, God would help the leaders and also help the people.
While she advised the people not to be worried about the circumstances surrounding the nation, Idoko, observed that worry would not solve the situation but rather give room to the devil, adding that the people should equally have the burden to pray, thereby enthroning the fear of God in the lives of the leadership.
Earlier, in her word charge, Idoko noted that prayers, which was the act of intercession was “one of the powerful ways to demonstrate love, concern or empathy and faith, and it can have profound impact on individuals, leaders, communities and situations in the world.
“In the midst of life’s challenges, uncertainties, triumphs and other unforeseen circumstance, we are called to stand in the gap, lifting up our voices corporately in prayer or intercession on behalf of our leaders, families, communities, youths, widows, the vulnerable, others and situations in our country and other nations
“As we ‘stand in the gap’, we recognize that God is the supreme and ultimate power that can bring healings, restorations, transform lives, and communities through prayer and intercession”, she stressed.
Furthermore, she said that it was her
earnest desire “that our prayers becomes God’s channel of comfort, strength, healings, restoration and inspiration to our leaders, families, communities and others, as we experience the joy and privilege of standing in the gap for our country, and other nations of the world”, she said.
Therefore, Idoko prayed God to raise more intercessors that would intercede on behalf of the nation, with a sincere heart, ana not for their personal gains, but for the overall good of Nigeria and other nations of the world.
