UPDATE: We will continue to stay in the chamber until Plateau elders come in and intervene-Abok

Embattled speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly, Honorable Abok Ayuba has said that he and members loyal to him will continue to remain in the hallowed chamber of the assembly until the elders of the state come to intervene.

Abok and members loyal to him gained access to the chambers on Monday morning having been barred from entry on Thursday last week after 8 members of the assembly said they have impeached him.

Speaking on a video seen by the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday afternoon, Abok maintained that they will remain in the Chambers until Plateau elders come in and intervene.

“We are here, we are going to stay here until the Plateau elders come in and intervene in this illegality.” He said.

The embattled speaker also called on security agencies to respect the rule of law and respect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
