… Reaffirms his position of not believing in consensus, questions sincerity of the consensus advocates

Rivers state governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential aspirant, Nyesome Wike has reaffirmed his position that nothing can make him quit his presidential ambition under the PDP.
Wike made this known during an exclusive interview with BBC pidgin on Friday. The governor also questioned the sincerity of those advocating for consensus in the party.
When asked by the interviewer if anything could make him quit the presidential race, Wike said nothing can, “The only thing that can make me quit the race is death but as long as am alive, no way.” He said.
Speaking on consensus, the oil rich state governor described the current advocacy for consensus as a gang up against some aspirants which he wouldn’t want to be part of.
“What do you call consensus?, Why should I step down for anybody?.
“If you want to do consensus, you should do it in a way where there will be equity, where it will be fair to everybody, where everybody will get justice.
“If the consensus you want to do is to gang up against one or two persons, why should I go and put my hands in that kind of consensus? The people championing consensus, is their hands clean?
“Their hands are not clean, what they are doing is what I called shine shine bobo, the more you look the less you see.” He said.
Recall that some governors and s former governor in the PDP had been advocating for a consensus candidate for the party ahead of the primary elections. The governors are; Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Former governor of Kwara state and immediate past President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki.
