The Caretaker Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue State chapter, Chief Benjamin Omale, has commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for not only providing purposeful and visionary leadership but also for transforming the state for the greater good of all citizens.

Omale who stated this in a statement he made available to newsmen in Makurdi said since his inauguration as the sixth Executive Governor of Benue State on May 29, 2023, Very Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia has emerged as a beacon of hope, progress, and visionary leadership.

He said “With a clear focus on development, accountability, and the welfare of the people, Governor Alia is redefining governance and setting a new standard for transformative leadership.

Highlighting some the Fr Alia’s achievements since he assumed office, Omale said the Governor has ensured relief for workers by clearing their salary arrears.

“Governor Alia made history by clearing salary arrears dating back to 2017, a feat that many considered impossible. Thousands of workers and their families have experienced financial relief, restoring their dignity and faith in government. This bold move underscores his commitment to workers’ welfare and demonstrates his resolve to address systemic challenges.

He stated that Alia who is known for his servant-leader approach, has led with humility, compassion, and transparency adding that “His administration exemplifies good governance, prioritizing the needs of the people over personal or political gains. This leadership style has resonated with citizens, fostering unity and trust in his vision for a better Benue.”

He also named key achievements in the area of Infrastructure development with ongoing construction and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and public facilities saying “These efforts have improved connectivity, enhanced access to essential services, and spurred economic activities across rural and urban areas.

“His administration has launched initiatives to empower youth, women, and small businesses. Programs like the establishment of the Benue Multi-Purpose ICT and Fashion Hub and the revitalization of state enterprises are creating jobs and promoting entrepreneurship.

“In healthcare revitalization, the Governor’s investment in healthcare is transformative. The clearance of arrears for staff at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) and the construction of a cancer treatment center at BSUTH exemplify his commitment to quality healthcare. These efforts are not only improving services but also boosting morale among healthcare professionals.”

The APC who also noted the Governor’s stride in security said the his launch of the Benue State Civil Protection Guard (BSCPG) and “Operation Anyam Nyor,” a joint security task force and equipping them with vehicles, motorcycles, and modern gadgets, were commendable initiatives towards addressing the state’s long-standing security challenges.

“Governor Hyacinth Alia’s purposeful and visionary leadership is changing the narrative in Benue State. His administration’s achievements in just over a year are proof that with determination, transparency, and a people-first approach, sustainable development is achievable.

“Governor Alia’s focus on sustainability and long-term planning is evident in the recent launch of the Benue State 10-Year Development Plan. His government is laying a foundation for future generations by prioritizing education, healthcare, and economic growth,” he said.

He called on the people of Benue who are rallying behind him to keep up their support of his administration expressing the confidence that ihe has the ability to deliver on his promises.
