Worried by the need to step up health care delivery in plateau state, the Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA), Plateau State branch, has promised to lift up the health care need of the people, tackle the healthcare delivery.
This is even as the Association is set to host its maiden Plateau Business Coalition for Health (PBCHealth) Summit in the state.
The business Summit is to catalyze increased philanthropic investment in Plateau State’s health sector, drive the development of critical infrastructure, and improve health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and children.
The association in a statement by Dr. (Mrs) Nankling Lamu, Chairperson Local Organizing Committee NMA Plateau Business Coalition for Health (PBCHealth) and Dr. Yilji Cashmir Kumtap
Chairman, NMA Plateau State Branch said the launch is aimed at bridging the gap between the private sector and the health ecosystem.
“NMA Plateau is desirous of reshaping the landscape of healthcare delivery in Plateau State for generations to come. The bold and timely move is to revitalize Plateau State’s healthcare sector”, the statement added.
“The NMA Plateau is convening this high-level gathering to foster strategic collaboration between business leaders, policymakers, healthcare experts, and civil society organizations. By uniting key stakeholders, the summit aims to mobilize philanthropic support from the private sector and galvanize sustainable partnership that will directly enhance healthcare delivery in the state”.
The summit Slated for 10th April 2025 at the prestigious Crispan Suites and Event Centre, Jos, Plateau State, With the theme, “Unlocking Value Chain in Healthcare Financing through Sustainable Business Partnerships,” the summit seeks to address pressing health sector challenges including underfunding, weak infrastructure, and a shortage of skilled human resources.
Sim Shagaya, tech entrepreneur and CEO of uLesson as well as Chancellor, Miva Open University, will headline the event, bringing his unique blend of innovation and business acumen to inspire actionable conversations.
The PBCHealth Summit promises a rich agenda designed to spark dynamic engagement and result-oriented while the Keynote Lecture is to be delivered by a distinguished economist and business leader to dissect the opportunities in healthcare financing through private sector participation.
Panel Discussion will also be featured, titled: “The Future of Healthcare: Bridging the Gap through Philanthropic Support,” the session will feature thought leaders from healthcare, business, technology, and policymakers.
There will also be a strategic session focused on building synergies between businesses and healthcare providers to address critical health needs in Plateau State with a deep dive into research findings on health system gaps in Plateau State will be presented to the business community by the Research & Statistics subcommittee.
Above all, the summit will serve as a hub for high-level networking among industry leaders, fostering long-term alliances for healthcare development.
