Residents get kidnapped while others are brutally killed in their homes. Nobody is safe again as even Government’s staff aren’t spared either.
Latest media reports in the state has put the scenario at an alarming stage as no single day passes without distorbing headlines and ugly scenes of slaughtered humans.
Gunmen had on Monday, September 1st, 2025, launched a deadly attack on two brothers at Akunza community along the Lafia -Federal University -Makurdi Expressway Area of Nasarawa State, killing one and leaving the other in critical conditions.
The victims, identified as Edwin and Cyril, were supervising construction works at a family property when the attackers struck. Witnesses said the gunmen, who called out the brothers’ names, tried to force the main door open before shooting through the window, killing Edwin and seriously injuring Cyril.
Armed rapists have continued to execute their dastardly act on innocent female students of the university for months now.
In a separate incident, suspected bandits stormed the residence of a promising businessman, Alhaji Mohammed Sani at the heart of Lafia, the state capital killing him instantly.
Angered by the killing, some alert youths pursued and captured one of the assailants and set him ablaze.
The incidents have heightened tension among residents, who lament the wave of killings and insecurity in the state capital.
In New Nyanya suburb of New Karu, the gateway to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, daredevil armed miscreants in their hundreds, on Tuesday night, killed another resident, carting away household items for hours unchallenged.
On August 15th, 2025, the head of the government house kitchen, Ms Paulina Erna was kidnapped a stone throw from her place of work, the Government House, Lafia shortly after closing from work.

On the same day she was freed, an aide to former governor Sen Umaru Tanko Almakura was also kidnapped.
These scenarios might have angered the state lawmakers when they summoned the courage to sit over the matter.
We appeal to Gov Sule to provide adequate security logistics on ground to strike more actions to tame the activities of these undesirable elements.
The PDP sympathizes with the local farmers who are fleeing from their farms at almost harvest stages.
We advise the governor to step up modern strategic plans to stem the current state of killings in the state.
The government which has continued to deny the presence of suspected armed bandits in its territory should encourage security agencies to perfect their strategies for the fight ahead noting the negatively escalating state of affairs in Nasarawa State.
The authority should respond to alerts from reports of identified heavily armed bandits in deserted areas like Doka, Rukubi and Akpanaja in Ekkye Development Area, Mahanga, Jangaru area of Awe LGA and Kwara, Giza and Kadarko area of Keana LGA respectively.
We call on the Government of Engr Abdullahi Sule to keep away self-pride, partner with the neighbouring FCT authority to secure the neighborhood and satellite towns of New Nyanya, Maraba, Masaka and environs and flush out these hoodlums.
