National Chairman, Conference of APC Publicity Secretaries, High Chief Otaru Douglas, has commended the Ex IGP for reaching out to party executives at the grassroots, a development he described as a novel democratic approach to stakeholders engagement which has been hitherto neglected.
Chief Otaru, who spoke during a consultative engagement meeting in Karu Local government Area of Nasarawa Sunday evening said Adamu’s recent visit to various local government areas in the state, interfacing with party executives will further strengthen the party, give life to the party and enriching visibility across the state.
Otaru who is also the Nasarawa state Publicity Secretary of APC, commended the leader of the party, governor Abdullahi A Sule for allowing for a thriving democratic contest in the face of stiff agitations.
” Although, ban on campaign activities has not been lifted, aspirants are only allowed to consult with stakeholders and party leaders in a more civil and democratic manners”.
He however cautioned against the rising verbal and social media attacks on party leaders and aspirants by supporters, a situation if not checked could impinged on the party fortunes.
“I want to apeal to our political gladiators and their supporters at all levels to apply wisdom, decorum and civility in addressing our internal differences. We are members of one family, our differences should be internalised if we must succeed as a party”, Otaru declared.
He advised against making public statements against individuals, personalities maintaining that it was not right at this time that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi A Sule are working hard to improve our lots in the party.
“It is not right for us ruling party to set bad democratic precedence”, Otaru further advised that all party related issues in court or security agencies should be withdrawn and foreclosed for internal conflicts resolution mechanism.
Meanwhile, the former Inspector General of police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has charged Politicians to strive to make the electorates feel the benefits of democracy in the country.
IGP Adamu who spoke during a consultative meeting with APC stakeholders and party executives from various wards in Karu on sunday, decried neglect of party executives, supporters and other critical party members after election.
The former IGP who is also a governorship aspirant of APC in Nasarawa state promised to review conditions of the party members, infrastructures as well as ensuring that the well fare and wellbeing of the party is placed at the front burner
Adamu who was quick to declared that he was not in Karu for campaign but to interface with the people, appeal for restraint ahead of the 2027.
