Dr. Uma Ukpai, has passed away at the age of 80.Sources from his ministry confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), with Monye Morris among those announcing that the respected cleric died in Lagos—signaling the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders.Dr. Uma Ukpai, whose ministry spanned several decades, was revered for his unwavering faith, healing crusades, and lifelong dedication to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
His evangelistic mission extended across continents, bringing salvation, healing, and hope to millions within and beyond Nigeria.
Born in Abia State, Rev. Ukpai rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s through his dynamic preaching and miracle crusades that attracted large crowds. He was also a founding member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), an umbrella body for Pentecostal and Charismatic churches committed to promoting spiritual revival and unity across the nation.As of the time of this report, his family has not yet released an official statement regarding his passing.
