Agara Promises to Ravamp and Upscale NDE, says appointment on Behalf of Nasarawa People

The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Mr Silas Agara, has said that he has set modalities in motion to revamp and upscale the National Directorate of Employment, NDE as an organization that will shape the future of Nigerian youths, reduce unemployment challenges by creating opportunities for decent living within public and private sectors beung prime purpose of his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. Agara stated this while interacting with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Nasarawa State chapter, when he them in audience ona congratulatory visit to him in his country home in Akwanga, headquarters of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa.

He remarked that his appointment as the DG of NDE is not personal but belongs to the people of Nasarawa State, therefore, is soliciting for their continuous support for him to deliver on the mandate of his office.

Mr. Agaraa was a former Deputy Governor of the State and a one time Commissioner for youths and sports, is currently the chairman of Karate Federation of Nigeria as well as the second vice president of the association in the West African zone. The DG is also the chairman of the Nationwide League, NNL which is the biggest local football league in Africa, said SWAN remains one of his immediate constituencies and promise to support them in any capacity, noting that he will be part of the ongoing SWAN week by making some inputs towards it’s success.

“If there are anything we can do to support SWAN in Nasarawa State, count me in as one of those who show support for the association. I think opportunity has presented itself through the SWAN week to show my support and I will request to see the line up of activities and look at where we can come in to register our presence and to be part of you to have a successful week” he said.

He however appreciated Sport Writers in Nasarawa State and it’s leadership past and present for always associating with him in ensuring that all his attainments in the sporting world are adequately covered and this has projected him to the larger audience.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of SWAN in Nasarawa State, Comr. Smah George congratulated Mr Agara on his recent appointment as the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment. He said his appointment did not come as a surprise but as a reward for hardwork and dedication to finding solutions to problems of the people in all walks of life most expecially youths and the vulnerable population in the area of human capacity, sport and community development.

He used the opportunity of the visit to intimate his host of the ongoing SWAN week, being one of the pillars of Sports in the State, soliciting his support for SWAN to attain the success it wishes.

On his part the immediate past vice president of Sport Writers in the North Central zone, Mr Dan Mohammed, who is the Director of Information Nasarawa State, appreciated the NDE DG for always supporting the association whenever the need arises and solicited for more colaborations to cement and build additional robust partnerships going forward.
