Calls for peaceful polls in Nigeria

LAFIA — THE opposition People’s Democratic party ( PDP) in Nasarawa friday called on its supporters and other Nigerians to eschew violent acts and embrace peace during campaigns by political parties for the conduct of next months polls.
The party in a statement to announce the resumption of the party’s campaign in the state, , Director of Media and publicity the Campaign Council, Mike Omeri explained that the warning has become necessary in order to ensure that campaigns and elections were conducted peacefully.
The statement added that with the resumption of the party’s Campaign activities on Saturday 07/01/2023 holding in Obi LGA by 11:00am, it has become expedient to caution Nigerians on the need to remain steadfast and conduct themselves in the interest of the nation.
“We call on everyone, lovers and associates of the party to support us throughout the remaining campaigns and cheer the party victory”.
The statement added that a vote for PDP is a vote for the return of peace, rejection of further slavery, hunger, hardship, insecurity in Nigeria.
It would be recalled that the peoples Democratic party (PDP) Nasarawa State Chapter went on Christmas and New Year break after concluding the first phase of its campaign rallies in Keffi on the 17/12/202 and is billed to resume campaign on Saturday this week.
While thanking all Nigerians especially the people of Nasarawa state for all the support given to the candidates of the party during the state wide Campaign in 2022, the statement urged our supporters to be peaceful and law abiding as we approach the 2023 general elections. He assured that the party’s gubernatorial Candidate Hon. David Ombugadu will implement all the plans already articulated for the state and that the party will drive the country and citizens to fortune amidst the aboundant possibilities that are spread all across the state and the nation beginning this year as soon as we take the mantle of leadership and service.
