The Benue Zone C Youth Network have honoured Prof. Innocent Ujah, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
The award was presented to the former VC during his thanksgiving service in his Country Home at Aidogido Okpoga, Okpokwu local government organized by close friends, associates and family members.
The Award which was presented by the Coordinator, Benzonet, Comrade Abel Oche Ankeli cited the great contribution of Prof Innocent Ujah in medical profession and Community building during his days in Jos.
Prof Ujah, the pioneer VC according to them has within his tenure has set up a very good academic standard in the first University of Health Sciences in the entire North Central, Nigeria.
“His contributions to several members of his community to enable them get good education and facilitation of employment to various persons irrespective tribe or religion in various establishments across the country ‘
The Group further appreciated the Prof. Ujah for always making good contribution to the Education growth and development of Idoma nation and for been a great sponsorship of Benzonet free Educational Support Project in Zone C and charged him to stay committed to developmental agenda of Benue-South even after a successful administrative outing and retirement from active service.
In his acceptances brief, the renowned Professor and pioneer VC, thanked the Benzonet Coordinator for choosing the path of Humanitarian impact as a responsibility which is rear to find any youth body currently engaged in that area of engagement.
“He appeal to the Coordinator and all members of the prestigious Organization to stay committed in reaching out to poor vulnerable children in our community.”
He assured them of not been tired of doing his bid for Idoma people as his retirement will only give him the time to rest and do more for his people which is what he has enjoyed doing in his entire life.
The Award presentation was witnessed by professional colleagues, University community, Medical Practitioners,family members, elder statement, Traditional Rulers , Community leaders including Mr Joseph Ameh Onojah, President General, Aidogodo Community who described Prof Innocent Ujah as a rare gift to the community in particular and Idoma land in general.
