Boko Haram insurgents have set some houses on fire around Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Red8dence say the Jidari polo area, a usual route of the terrorists came under heavy gunfire Amidst loud sounds of explosion engulfing that part of the growing settlement.
There are sounds of gunshots and explosion especially around the Jiddari Polo area molar rehabilitation centre.
TMSnews correspondent reports that the military responded with massive gun battle between troops and suspected insurgents around Molai and Jiddari polo in the state capital.
A residents spoken to said some people have fled rhier house adding :as I speak to you now, some people and friends from that area have taken refuge in my house while others have ran in different directions. The situation has triggered fear and confusion in parts of the city as loud explosions reverberated in the city of Maiduguri.
