Cross River State Government set to introduce Electric Vehicles, Tricycle and Motorcycle

The Cross River state government has announced plan to introduce electric Vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles to ease transportation in the state.

Consequently, the office of the Commissioner for Special Duties and intergovernmental affairs, Hon. Oden Ewa and the CEO of the Cross River State Green Economy Commission, has been empowered to drive the state’s green economy vision.

This is in a bid to promote a green economy and reduce carbon emissions in the state.

City Post gathered that the Cross River State government has approved the purchase of electric vehicles, motorcycles and tricycles.

The commission’s efforts is said to be focusing on promoting sustainable practices, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and exploring alternative energy sources.

The adoption of electric vehicles is expected to reduce operational costs for public transportation, potentially lowering costs by up to 50%. This initiative will also bring down the cost of transportation for citizens, aligning with the People’s First Agenda of the Otu administration.
