FATHER MBAKA ALLEGEDLY DISAPPEARS, PROTEST ROCKS ENUGU. DSS SAYS MBAKA NOT WITH THEM

News of the Alleged disappearance of Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka has sparked mass protest in Enugu,  the state capital.

Over 10,000 Supporters of the Adoration ministry in Enugu on Wednesday, took to the streets to protest the alleged disappearance of their Spiritual Director.

The news of Mbaka’s alleged disappearance was broken on Wednesday morning through a statement from Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council World-wide.

Mbaka, who last week asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign or be impeached, was attacked by the Presidency while responding to the call.

The Presidency had claimed that the cleric was attacking Buhari because he was denied a contract.

Father Mbaka who admitted that he took two persons to the villa to meet the president over insecurity intervention, explained that it was not personal but in the interest of the country and Mr. President who seemed bereft of ideas to solve the security threats in the country. He further challenged the Presidency to report him to the Pope as threatened.

In another development, the Presidency has alleged that some clergymen and foreign collaborators were ploting to overthrow the government. It was not clear whether the disappearance if Father Mbaka has anything to do with the back and forth.

Our correspondents reports that youths of Mbaka’s ministry have been mobilising to the Adoration ground to demand knowledge of his whereabout.

The parishioners have stormed the Bishop’s Court demanding that Bishop Calistus Onaga of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu should produce Mbaka.

Policemen are having hectic time trying to control the protesters, as some of them are already vandalizing household items in the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the Department of State Services have disclosed that the service did not pick him up, therefore, he is not in their custody. DDS spokesman Peter Afunnaya released a statement to that effect.
