The Honourable Minister of the FCT, Mal. Muhammad Musa Bello has stated that Eid El-adha prayers can now hold at the National Eid ground near the City-gate, Abuja. This resolution was met after his meeting with the leadership of the Committee of FCT Imams Initiative (CFII) on Friday afternoon 6th Zul-Hajj, 1442AH (16/July/2021) regarding this year’s Eid El-adha which is coming yet amidst Delta variant of Covid -19 reportedly spreading around.
The minister equally warned that all Eid grounds in and around the FCT are to conduct the prayers while strictly observing the known Covid-19 protocols, such as washing of hands, sanitizers, using of face masks and maintaning social distancing, and that all the prayer rites should be performed within one hour maximum from the arrival of Imam.
Bello added that all juma’ah Mosques with wide haraba (compound) around, can observe the Eid prayers in their open spaces, (except for rains), so as to reduce crowd when observing the Eid in fewer places or Mosques.
While wishing all the faithful a happy Eid el-adha Mubarak, he enjoined worshippers to continue to pray for the general well being of the nation, improved security of lives and properties, and for stability and prosperity in FCT particularly, and in Nigeria as a whole.
