Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed the Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof. Godswill Obioma.
Obioma was shot dead by some gunmen who invaded his residence in Minna, Niger State, on Monday night.
The wife of the deceased, Elizabeth Obioma, who made the disclosure in the early hours of Tuesday said that her husband had just returned to Minna, the Niger State capital, from a trip to Abuja when the gunmen, prowling in his compound, descended on him and strangled him.
“The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,” she said.
Prof. Obioma, 67, was appointed the NECO Registrar barely a year ago on May 14, 2020.
