The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has stated that restructuring is without doubt, pivotal to the continued survival of Nigeria as an entity.
He stated this during his remark at the northwest constitution review public forum at Sultan Maccido Institute Auditorium on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, where he advised that on the ongoing national discussion, there are salient matters that require attention. These include the ever-persistent issue of restructuring, which is without doubt, pivotal to the continued survival of Nigeria as an entity.
Tambuwal observed in his remark that at this eventful moment in the life of our nation, it is critical that the current Constitution Review exercise will be a breakaway from the past. Unlike the previous attempts, and that the express positions of the people should be conveyed through to the last letter of the process.
While wishing all the participants a fruitful deliberation that will lead to the strengthening of our democracy and the improvement of good governance, for the benefit of our nation and its good people he emphatically stated that despite the difficulties our nation is facing with democracy, this form of governance is better for our people than the best dictatorship, noting that the challenges are merely the features of a system that must cater for the interest of all citizens from diverse geopolitical and socioeconomic backgrounds.
