Sacking Ayu Will Worsen PDP’s Fortune-Atiku’s Ally

By News Editor, Abuja

The demand by the camp of Governor Nyesom Wike that the national chairman of the PDP, Sen Iyorchia Ayu be removed may worsen the main opposition party.

This position was canvassed by the Director General, DG of Atiku presidential campaign, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi. He said removing the PDP national chairman will be the most unwise thing to do, especially with the campaign season drawing nearer.

According to Dokpesi, Governor  Wike who is causing trouble for the PDP was the same person who called for the removal of Prince Uche Secondus, a former chairman of the party.

However, Gov Wike’s camp has warned of adverse political consequences should Ayu remains along side Atiku Abubakar as that arrangement negects the PDP tradition of an all northern card.

Wike had table conditions for his support for Atiku.

He listed the sacking of Ayu, to be replaced with a southern national Chairman as to balance up the power equation.

The PDP currently has it board of trustees Chairman, Sen Wali Jibrin, national Chairman, Ayu and now the flag bearer, Atiku all, from the North.

Wike who came second at the May 28th PDP presidential primary also lost out in the Vice presidential race to Gov Ifeanyi Okowa.
