Group Denies Endorsing Gov Sule …We Can’t Reinforce Failure

Concerned Tiv Leaders in Nasarawa state have denied endorsing Gov Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state for the second term, saying it will be a disaster to reinforce failure.

In a statement jointly signed by the president of the Nasarawa state PDP Tiv Forum, Mr Daniel Gbaape, Hon Thomas Gaar, Hon Eric Mbatsav, Hon. Moses Tyopev, Hon Alex Avindigh, Hon Charles Kwaghshir and others respectively, said in Lafia, that rather than endorse the governor for the second term, the Tiv had put before the governor some nagging requests bothering on their welfare, governance, security, etc which are begging for answers.

They asked why under Gov Sule, the political curtain has been lowered down the radar from Cabinet/Commissioner/Special Adviser down to Personal Assistants (PAs) and Honourable Councilors.

Rather than endorsement, the group regreted that under Gov Sule’s watch, the Tiv were incompetent enough to be appointed as Supervisory Councillors in Doma, Keana and Awe LG Executive Councils.

under the Gov Sule’s watch, about three Tiv sons (Engr. Moses Utondu(Awe/Keana/Doma Rep), Sir Francis Akie (Keana NSHA), Barr Torlafia Obi (NSHA) had contested the last APC primaries but we’re corced out in the same party where one family has two members gunning in for both the Senate and House of Representatives respectively.
The group doubted if a large numbers of those who trekked under the rains after attending the townhall meeting at the Government House, Lafia, would have endorsed anyone under the rains.

Prior to the visit, a stakeholder, Hon. Jonathan Ipaa had cautioned the leadership of the Tiv Development Association, TIDA on a serialized deceits by the ruling APC government to the Tiv nationality of Nasarawa state.
He said that:
“They will once again, promise you an imaginary Tiv chiefdom, more PAs(not cabinet appointments), and attach same to the votes because the BVAS won’t make it possible for the usual rigging.
“Note that the Tiv votes of Ibuan, Imon, Apurugh, Ihuman, will no longer be flown to Adudu. The Tiv votes of Abaagu, Kwaghshir, Mbatsav, Gidan Ipaa and Ikposeigye will no longer be flown to Obi to be allocated. The votes of Gboigyo, Akpanaja, Gidan Saawuan and others won’t have to be moved to Doma for the same purpose.
The Tiv votes of all the villages around Giza, Keana, Awe, Asakio, etc would no longer be flown into Lafia for discreet allocation, because the innovation in our electoral system courtesy of the Electoral Act 2022.
According to the group, this serialized deceit only negects the routine principle of political bargaining as unfulfilled promises made to the Tiv people potend.
It is doubtful if the Tiv had actually endorsed the governor because no justice has been offered by the authorities when 56 innocent Tiv farmers were in 2021 brutally hacked to dead in the villages of Assakio, Azara, Obi and some parts of Keana LGAs respectively.
