The government and people of Sokoto have been thrown into morning over the demise of the erstwhile Commissioner for Agriculture in the state.
Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, on Monday led a cross section of his cabinet, government officials, traditional rulers, Islamic and Community leaders and the people of the state at Lambar Tureta town to pray for the repose of the soul of late Hon. Muhammad Arzika Tureta (1959-2021), erstwhile Commissioner for Agriculture in the state.
The robustly attended funeral which took place in Lambar Tureta hometown of the deceased was not only well attended but turned out to be an avenue for outpour of emotional tears for a man regarded by many in his town and the state as not only a politician of outstanding repute but a personality who lived and breathed generosity till he departed this world.
Tureta has been described by many who know of his political dexterity and sagacity as the ‘Shield of Sokoto Politics in the South-Eastern Part’, late Arzika Tureta said one political supporters of Gov. Tambuwal is: ‘exceptional among few equals’ that backs the Governor ‘with unflinching loyalty and holds his turf against all political opponents in the state.’
Late Tureta lived a fulfilled life of greatness, commitment, trust, and political unity within his domain with decorum and perseverance amongst his contemporaries in the state.
