The Osana of Keana, His Royal Highness, Alh. Dr. Abdullahi Amegwa Agbo III has officially launched a 16-member committee headed by Prof. Abu Ozegya Egwa, aimed at encouraging and increasing the participation of eligible voters in Keana Local Government Area to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being undertaken by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
A statement signed by Committee Secretary Jonah Agye said the move was to maximize outreach and ensure awareness about the process as an important pillar in democracy and the election process.
Mr. Agye disclosed that so far, the committee has established subcommittees in all the ten electoral wards of Keana Local Government.
He further explained that each subcommittee at the ward level consists of three computer compliant support volunteers drawn from the area and are responsible for registering eligible individuals online.
Parents and guardians are strongly urged to bring their children who have reached voting age to the designated registration centers in their respective wards.
The Osana was quoted to have said that getting registered early is crucial to avoid rushing at the last minute.
The secretary then restated that the committee is dedicated to ensuring that every eligible voter in Keana LGA is properly registered and empowered to exercise their right to vote in elections.
