The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Maikaya Foundation Football Club, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya has assured that the football tournament currently running in Nasarawaa state will help reduce restive youth from the street, empowered and encouraged sports development in the state.
Speaking with Journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Dr Maikaya said the football tournament is designed to encourage sports Development, and create jobs for the teeming youth and reduce the quest for white cola jobs.
According to the philanthropist, “my desire over the years is to impact on the youths all over the state which incidentally has fallen in line with Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision for sports development and job creation”..
“The Maikaya Development Foundation’s football competition is part of its broader effort to engage youth in meaningful activities and promote community development. It has been instrumental in driving my vision, using my resources to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in Nasarawa State.
“The essence is to promoting sports development and empowering youth in the state. The initiative extends beyond sports, focusing on education, healthcare, and community development. With its motto “Leaving No One Behind,” MDF is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities in Nasarawa State.
He emphasized that the initiative is aimed at harnessing the hidden energetic and potential youths of the State to be come productive.
According to him, Foundation’s annual Football Competition concluded recently in Keffi Local Government Area, with Black Scorpion FC emerging as the winner after a thrilling penalty shootout against Golden Bridge FC, was attended by prominent figures from the state.
It would be recalled that the Nasarawa State born geologist and a front line politician has over the years used sports to create jobs mobilized and empowered the youth across the 13 Local government of the state.
