The ancient echoes of the drums in Doma have settled, and the vibrant regalia of the installation ceremony has been tucked away, but for the newly turbaned, the real work has only just begun.

By conferring these traditional titles upon a select group of sons and daughters, the Andoma of Doma, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo (OON), has done more than celebrate individual achievement; he has issued a royal summons to service.

This call is uniquely weighted by the caliber of those selected. When a veteran of national integrity like Ibrahim Magu is named the Gwarzon Doma, or an academic trailblazer like Professor Halima Doma Kutigi is crowned the Garkuwan Matan Doma, the message is clear: the turban is not a retirement gift, but a deployment.

Similarly, the appointment of Dr. Fatima Hussein Abdullahi as the Wakiliyan Doma signals a bridge between the palace’s wisdom and the people’s modern aspirations.

These are personalities who have commanded boardrooms,

courtrooms, and classrooms; now, they are commanded by the soil that birthed them.

The challenges facing the chiefdom-ranging from agrarian modernization to youth empowerment-cannot be solved by the palace alone. It requires a synergy of this “new nobility.”

These title holders are expected to be the engines of investment and the strategists who will navigate Doma through the complexities of the 21st century.

The turban is a reminder that one’s success is incomplete if it does not uplift the peasant farmer in the hinterlands of Alago land.

As these illustrious personalities return to their various stations, they carry with them the hopes of a people and the mandate of a King.

The celebration was for the moment, but the contribution must be for a lifetime.

In the court of tradition, a title is only as heavy as the development it attracts; for to whom much is given in honour, much is expected in impact.
