Obi @ 65th remains a symbol of hope, define unity for Nigeria – Engr Ijebor

A Chieftain of the major opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Engr Anselm Ijebor has paid glowing tribute to the 2027 presidential candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC), Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday, describing him as an incorruptible leader, a symbol of hope for millions of Nigerians and a defined factor for the nation’s unity.

Engr Anselm Ijebor who stated this in a goodwill message released on Sunday, noted that Obi’s record of integrity, financial discipline and commitment to ethical leadership, remained a reference point the history of not only in Anambra where he served as governor remained a rare example of principled leadership in Nigeria’s political landscape.

According to the PDP Chieftain, Obi has consistently demonstrated that public service can be driven by honesty, accountability and prudent management of public resources.

“In a country where remaining clean in public life is extremely challenging, Peter Obi has consistently chosen the path of discipline, honesty and unwavering principle, indicating that it is possible to serve with clean hands and a clear conscience,” Ijebor stated.

He further noted that Obi’s advocacy for fiscal responsibility and prudent governance has continued to resonate with Nigerians, particularly young people, who see him as a champion of responsible leadership and national renewal.

“In his words: Obi’s commitment to fighting wasteful spending and promoting accountability has strengthened public confidence in the possibility of building a better Nigeria through transparent and people-centred governance.

The PDP Chieftain further described the former Labour Party presidential candidate as an enduring voice of discipline whose leadership continues to inspire hope across the country.

“As Peter Obi marks his 65th birthday, we celebrate not just his age but the values he represents. He embodies the belief that character still matters, that competence and integrity can transform our society, and that one person’s dedication can inspire an entire generation,” Ijebor declared.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and strength for Obi, reassuring the hope that Obi would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s democratic development and national progress.

“Today, I join millions of well meaning Nigerians, other well-wishers and supporters of ethical leadership across Nigeria in celebrating a man who is not just a leader, but a symbol of hope, unity for a new Nigeria,” Anselm added.

While expressing concern over what he called the rising political tension in the country, Ejibor appealed to political stakeholders to prioritize good governance, national security, and a level playing field where democracy can thrive.

He further urged Nigerians not to be mislead, but remain statefast, committed and resolute in their quest for better Nigeria by standing firm in their belief in Obi, to free the country from huger, poverty, providing a new wave of governance without intimidation or electoral manipulation.
