The attack, the second in less than 24 hours got many Nigerians lamenting on what they described as a resumption of incessant killings and kidnappings along the Abuja-Kaduna express way.

Kefas said the ugly incident threw commuters into a state of confusion.

“It was a frightening experience for me because there was heavy gunshots so people were stranded and some who could, ran away for their lives.

“The attack led to a gridlock as both lanes of the highway were blocked by vehicles going to Kaduna and Abuja.

He also confirmed that the security forces who arrived the spot of the incident were there as mere spectators.

“The Military, the police and other security forces were present but didn’t do anything serious to rescue those that were taken captive.” Kefas said.
