Breaking: Explosion hits River state,as opposition lawmakers dismisses impeachment move

Explosion has reportedly occurred in River state Monday night near the Bodo-Bonny Road under construction.

Report claimed that thick black smoke was seen billowing into the air, with a raging fire spreading fast into the mangrove from a video that emerged this Tuesday morning.

TMSnews gathered that the affected section of the major pipeline is currently on fire, though the exact cause of the explosion has not been established at the time of filling this report.

It is yet to be determine whether the incident resulted from human interference, amid recent political crisis in the state and threats by militant groups to attack oil installations in response to the Federal Government’s withholding of Rivers State’s allocation due to the ongoing political crisis.

It was however learnt that the explosion occurred along the critical export pipeline that transports crude to the Bonny Terminal.

Police spokesperson in Rivers state, Grace Iringe-Koko, promised to find out and get back to our reporter. she was yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
