Guber poll: PDP candidate’s wife Woos Nasarawa women to vote for PDP

LAFIA — Wife of the Nasarawa state gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic party PDP, Mrs Dooshima Miranda David Ombugadu has appealed to women in the state to ensure victory of her husband, David Ombugadu and other state Assembly candidates in the March 18th 2023 governorship election.

 

Mrs Ombugadu made the appeal in Lafia when she donated three Galaxy buses to the Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria ( WOWICAN), Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria FOMWAN and Igbo Women Community Association in the state.

 

She said at the presentation of the vehicles to the groups that the womenfolk that formed over 70 percent of the voting population have the capacity to decide who governs the state and asked the women to vote Ombugadu and other candidates to guarantee their future and that of their children in the forthcoming governorship election.

 

According to Mrs Ombugadu, the PDP’s Umbrella is ready and prepared to accommodate both the men, women, youths and less privileged in the state, assuring that her husband will address issues concerning women if given the opportunity.

 

“My husband is somebody that carries everybody along and you can always access him through me. He will bring better future for your children, provide good roads , hospitals and employment for women and youths, a situation that has been lacking over the years in Nasarawa State”

 

“Ombugadu is a man of his words and when ever he says something, he makes sure he does it and accomplishes that mission. I want to assure you that Nasarawa would be better and Ombugadu is the man that will bring a change to the state,” she said.

 

She, therefore called on the women to come out en-masse and vote for her husband and all other PDP candidates in the forthcoming governorship and State Assembly elections.

 

Receiving the gift, WOWICAN Chairperson in the state, Deaconess Hauwa Joshua Yakubu, expressed joy over the gesture, saying that the guesture will not only address the mobility problem of the association, but enhance the full participation of it’s members in politics and Ather activities of the association..

 

While callng on women to come out during the 18th March to vote candidates of their choices for a better Nasarawa State, Mrs Haruna warned the women against voting for candidates who have coming with empty promises over the time, candidates whose tenure will bring untold hardship to the people.

 

Also speaking, Chairlady of Igbo Women Community Association in the state, Mrs Uju Ezeora, thanked Mrs Ombugadu for identifying with them even as she bestowed a traditional title of “Achalugo” meaning “Sunshine’ on her.

 

Ezeora, however said that the Igbo women have been denied certain privileges in the state including, admission into higher institutions of learning, scholarships, employment, political appointments, among others calling on Mrs Ombugadu to work closely with her husband to address these issues if elected.

 

Earlier, PDP State Women leader, Stella Oboshi appreciated the women for their show of love and urged them to vote for the candidates of the PDP to enable them enjoy dividends of democracy.

 

It would be recalled that the wife of the PDP Governorship candidate also donated food items as well as cash to the groups during the visits.
