Hyena Escapes from Keeper’s Den- Management of Plateau Tourism Board Calls for Calm

The management of Plateau State Tourism Corporation has announced the escape of a Hyena from it cage at Jos wildlife Park and is currently being tracked by a team of game guards and park rangers with the assistance of drone technology.

In a widely circulated public announcement, Monday, July 8, 2024, the Corporation assured the public that they are taking all necessary measures to locate the escaped animal and ensure its safe return to its enclosure soonest without creating fear and panic.

Therefore, they appeal for calm and cooperation from members of the public and to avoid any close contact with the hyena if sighted, while soliciting that the park authorities should be notified accordingly on phone numbers 09026927620 and 09131000945 if the animal is spotted, promising to update the public as soon as the situation is resolved.
